# Reference F: Scanner to issue category mapping

The scanners enabled in the repository scan configuration do not correspond one-to-one with the issue categories reported in the scan results. Use this mapping to relate a configuration setting to the results the setting produces.

| Configured scanner | Issue category produced | Note |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **IaC** | Configurations | Produces IaC misconfiguration detections in Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, and Helm templates. |
| **SCA** | Vulnerabilities **and** Package Integrity | One scanner produces two issue categories. CVE vulnerability detections appear under Vulnerabilities; package operational risk and license miscompliance detections appear under Package Integrity. |
| **Secrets** | Secrets | Detects credentials in the working tree, and in commit history when **Git History Scan** is enabled. |

> **Note:** A repository with the SCA scanner disabled produces no Vulnerabilities issues and no Package Integrity issues. Confirm the enabled scanner set before interpreting an empty category as a clean result.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://cortex-docs.paloaltonetworks.com/application-security/code-security/application-security-scans-management/manage-scans-through-the-tenant-ui/branch-periodic-scans/references/reference-f-scanner-to-issue-category-mapping.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
