# GCP PostgreSQL instance with log\_checkpoints database flag is disabled misconfiguration detected in

## Impact

Enabling *log\_checkpoints* causes checkpoints and restart points to be logged in the server log. Some statistics are included in the log messages, including the number of buffers written, and the time spent writing them. This parameter can only be set in the *postgresql.conf* file or on the server command line. We recommended you set the *log\_checkpoints* database flag for the Cloud SQL PostgreSQL instance to *on*.
