# Dashboards and reports

Learn how to use Cortex XDR dashboards, scheduled reports, compliance content, and MITRE ATT\&CK coverage to monitor security operations.

### Dashboards

* **Command Center** (where available): an executive-level summary of incoming data, cases, issues, and key metrics, with drill-down.
* **System dashboards:** Predefined dashboards for areas such as data ingestion, agent management, MITRE ATT\&CK coverage, identity, threat intelligence, and cloud security. Availability depends on your license.
* **Custom dashboards:** Build dashboards from XQL-based widgets, and share them by role.

See [System dashboards](https://cortex-docs.paloaltonetworks.com/cortex-xdr-5.x/detect-investigate-and-respond-to-threats/monitor-dashboards-and-reports/dashboard-reference/system-dashboards).

### Scheduled reports

Create reports from a template, a dashboard, or from scratch. Run them once, or schedule recurring delivery by email or Slack. See [Report basics](https://cortex-docs.paloaltonetworks.com/cortex-xdr-5.x/detect-investigate-and-respond-to-threats/monitor-dashboards-and-reports/overview-of-dashboards-and-reports/report-basics).

### Compliance reporting

* **Compliance content packs** provide dashboards and report templates mapped to frameworks such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, NIST CSF, and SOX. See [Cortex Compliance](https://cortex-docs.paloaltonetworks.com/compliance/cortex-compliance).
* **Posture Management** → **Compliance** (with a cloud posture or runtime license, or Cortex XSIAM Premium): run assessments against standards from the compliance catalog.
* **MITRE ATT\&CK coverage:** See [MITRE ATT\&CK mapping](/cortex-xdr/insights-and-tips-cortex-xdr/detection-engineering-and-threat-intelligence/mitre-att-and-ck-mapping.md).

{% hint style="info" %}
Compliance dashboards help you monitor controls and gather audit evidence. They don't replace your organization's compliance assessment.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://cortex-docs.paloaltonetworks.com/cortex-xdr/insights-and-tips-cortex-xdr/data-and-platform-administration/dashboards-and-reports.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
