# Dashboards

Dashboards offer graphical overviews of your tenant's activities, enabling you to effectively monitor incidents and overall activity in your environment. Each dashboard comprises widgets that summarize information about your attack surface in graphical or tabular format. Cortex Xpanse provides a comprehensive set of predefined dashboards, as well as the ability to create your own custom dashboards.

Most dashboards can be filtered by tags, business units, and time range. An indicator at the top right side of the page shows the time that the dashboard was last updated, and if the data is not up-to-date you can click \*\*Refresh \*\*to update all widget data.

Click the dashboard options menu ![incident-ellipsis.png](/files/yI482wyM5l2SpYmhmwtc) to see additional actions, including the option to save the dashboard as a report template, and set it as your default dashboard

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://cortex-docs.paloaltonetworks.com/cortex-xpanse/dashboards-and-reports/dashboards.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
